Marikay Jost
Marikay Jost considers herself an "Advocate for victims of slavery today." She has been working in Idaho since 2004 to raise awareness on human trafficking. She is the one who puts together training meeting and is the primary speaker and presenter of Idaho Human Trafficking Awareness. She got into getting people aware of today's form of slavery because she felt not enough was getting done about it. She felt that most people in Idaho and across the US were letting the situation get worse because we are not getting exposed to what is happening. This drive has led her to facilitate training in 11 different Idaho cities with various organizations. In 2005 Marikay even helped the Idaho Legislature create laws for human trafficking.
Maricela Artalejo
Maricela works at the Boise, Idaho Dept. of Health and Welfare. She got into helping Marikay when she was mandated by the state to give presentations to the employees about human trafficking. However, not much longer after that they decided that it was unnecessary and discontinued it. Feeling that strongly about getting people aware of this issue she decided to continue working with Marikay Jost. In the future she hopes to one day get the human trafficking presentations back in the health and welfare department as well in other departments that have a high probability of coming across victims of this crime.
